[Tungsten Carbide]:EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON THE TRANSFORMATION OF CARBIDES IN 91211 ALLOY

The 91211 alloy is characterized by cobalt-free and high content of tungsten (11-12 wt.%) with high temperature strength. It is examined that there are two types of carbide MC and M6C in a total amount of 1.5% in as-cast 91211 alloy as well as the matrix y solid solution, y + y' eutectic, y' phase and a small amount of M3B2 phase. MC and M6C carbides are found to be formed within the temperature range of solidification and no influence of heat-treatment on their amount and distribution if the temperature is lower than 1050℃. If the temperature is higher than 1050℃, a transformation occurs from MC into M6C and the change of transformation amount presents exponentially with respect to the temperature. Forming elements of MC are mainly Nb, Ti and W, while those of M6C are W, Mo and Ni. .......Details,please contact the auther, editor directly.
