Uranium find excites miner
Uranium explorer Toro Energy says it may have confirmed a rich new uranium mining province in Western Australia.
Toro says its initial exploration near the Aboriginal community of Kiwirrkurra, near the Northern Territory border, shows a mineral system spanning at least 7.5 kilometres.
Toro's managing director, Greg Hall, says the site looks extremely promising.
"This is open in all directions," he said.
"We expect to see more mineralisation that will make this region even larger.
"It's a very significant exploration task for us now and what we hope to do in the future is, as we do initial sampling, we will really advance the project to go forward."
