Phil Taylor claimed the World Matchplay title for the 14th time as he beat Adrian Lewis 18-13 in the final at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool.
Taylor, 52, fought back from 6-4 behind to claim the victory and win the event for the sixth year in succession.
Lewis, 28, played his part in a high-quality encounter, the two-time world champion averaging almost 106.

"It's probably one of the best finals I've been in and he was very tough to beat," Taylor told Sky Sports.
"For me it's a great achievement. I'm 53 in August and it can't get any better than this."
Sixteen-time world champion Taylor, who ended the game with a three-dart average of 111.23, took the opening leg before fellow Stoke-on-Trent player Lewis, who was appearing in his first Matchplay final, claimed 4-2 and then 6-4 leads.
But Taylor won six legs in a row to move 10-6 ahead, although a Lewis fightback reduced the gap to one leg at 11-10.
However, Taylor accelerated again by winning the next four legs on his way to lifting the trophy.
Lewis, who won the European Championship in Germany earlier this month, said: "I threw everything at him but I missed the odd chance. I gave it my all and just fell short at the end.
"There will never be another Phil Taylor."
