Blue Tungsten Oxide Ceramic Material Producing Method

In addition to the excellent stability of the monoclinic blue tungsten oxide ceramic material, it also has a very strong optical absorption effect in the near-infrared light region, and has good biological compatibility. It can effectively convert light energy into heat energy. Killing cancer cells has potential applications in clinical tumor photothermal therapy.

As a conventional ceramic material, monoclinic phase tungsten trioxide (WO3) has high chemical inertness and good biocompatibility. It can generate singlet oxygen under light. Therefore, it is gradually being accepted by the material science community and valued by the medical profession. However, due to the poor light absorption effect of WO3 in the solar spectrum, its application as an anti-cancer drug carrier and a photothermal conversion material is limited. At present, people urgently need to develop novel WO3 bioceramic photothermal conversion materials with simple synthesis process, high photothermal conversion efficiency and stability to realize photothermal treatment of malignant cancer cells.

After investigating domestic and foreign related literature reports and patent discoveries about the use of bioceramic materials for photothermal conversion, there is no precedent based on the preparation of blue tungsten oxide ceramic materials and the application of photothermal therapy.

A preparation method of monoclinic phase blue tungsten trioxide ceramic material includes the following steps:

  1. Mix the tungsten hexachloride with an organic solvent, and let it stand to obtain an amorphous tungsten oxide precursor precipitation;
  2. The amorphous tungsten oxide precursor is precipitated, washed, dried, crushed, warmed up and kept warm, and then cooled to obtain yellow crystalline tungsten trioxide;
  3. Mix yellow crystalline tungsten trioxide with aqueous hydrochloric acid solution, ultrasonically disperse, add copper powder, stir, centrifuge, wash, and dry to obtain monoclinic phase blue tungsten trioxide ceramic material.

Precautions for the preparation method:

(1) The mass-volume ratio of organic solvent g:ml is 0.1-0.5:20-30.

(2) The organic solvent is composed of at least one of methanol, absolute ethanol, and isopropanol.

(3) The standing in step 1 is to stand in a 70-80℃ water bath, and the standing time is 5-8h.

(4) The heating rate in step 2 is 10-20°C/min.

(5) The holding temperature in step 2 is 400-500℃, and the holding time is 2-3h.

(6) In step 3, 0.1-0.3 parts by weight of yellow crystalline tungsten trioxide are mixed with an aqueous hydrochloric acid solution with a concentration of 2-3 mol/l.
