Solvothermal Method to Produce Orthorhombic Phase Hydrated Tungsten Trioxide Photocatalyst With Flower-like Hierarchical Structure
The solvothermal method was used to prepare orthorhombic phase hydrated tungsten trioxide (oWO3•0.33H2O) photocatalyst with flower-like hierarchical structure by adjusting the amount of acetone. Researches show that:tungsten trioxide nanopowder picture
1. Acetone retained orthorhombic phase hydrated tungsten trioxide (020) crystal facet, thus forming a microstructure differs from the synthesized sample in the water system.

2. Different addition levels of acetone have great influences on the microstructure of sample, which is mainly caused by the change of saturated vapor pressure in reaction system. With the increase of acetone, the absorption of visible light gradually increased.

3. The photocatalytic activity of synthesized orthorhombic phase hydrated tungsten trioxide photocatalyst with flower-like hierarchical structure is higher than that of orthorhombic phase hydrated tungsten trioxide photocatalyst with thorn-like hierarchical structure synthesized in water system.

4. The synthesized orthorhombic phase hydrated tungsten trioxide flower-like hierarchical structure can degrade 88.5% Rhodamine B after illuminated for 240 minutes.
