BTO nanopowder has good catalytic performance and is the main catalyst or auxiliary catalyst in the petrochemical industry. It can also catalyze many reactions such as hydrogenation, dehydrogenation, oxidation, hydrocarbon isomerization, alkylation, and so on.
Hydrogenation and dehydrogenation are two different reactions. Hydrogenation is a chemical reaction between molecular hydrogen (H2) and another compound or element, usually in the presence of a catalyst such as nickel, palladium or platinum. However, dehydrogenation refers to the chemical reaction which removes hydrogen from a molecule. It is the reverse process of hydrogenation.
In addition, studies showed that BTO nanopowder can also be used as photocatalyst. The study has formed W20O58-TiO2 photocatalyst by covering W20O58 nano-films or nanoparticles on surface of TiO2, and modified the sulfate ion (SO₄²¯) on its surface, and eventually formed SO₄²¯-W20O58-TiO2 photocatalyst, which can be indirectly or directly used in sterilization and disinfection, the treatment of air pollution, material surface decontamination self-purification, water pollution or soil pollution. And it can also be simply converted into a coating or other form of photocatalyst in accordance with the specific application requirements.
