Tungsten Copper for Resistance Welding

Tungsten copper is a material with high electricity conductivity, when using for resistance welding, the material is bonded with copper hand. This kind of welding method refers to a method in which electric current passes through the welding objective and the resistance heat generated at the contact point as a heat source to locally heat the objective while pressing for welding. There are many advantages for this kind of welding method, high productivity, low deformation and easy automation realization.

The welding by resistance uses the resistance heating effect generated by the current flowing through the contact surface of the work piece and the adjacent area to heat it to a molten or plastic state to form a metal bond. There are four main methods, namely spot welding, seam welding, projection welding, and butt welding.

With the development of aerospace, electronics, automobiles, household appliances and other industries, resistance welding has received more and more attention for its wide application. At the same time, higher requirements are put forward for the quality. Fortunately, the development of China's microelectronics technology and the development of high-power thyristors and rectifiers have provided conditions for the improvement of this welding technology. China has produced secondary rectifier welding machines with excellent performance. The control box composed of integrated circuits and microcomputers has been used for the matching of new welding machines and the transformation of old welding machines. Advanced closed-loop monitoring technologies such as constant current, dynamic resistance, and thermal expansion have begun to be popularized and applied in production.

When performing this type of the welding, the surface quality of the welded workpiece is of paramount importance for obtaining stable welding quality. Therefore, the contact surface between the electrode and the workpiece and between the workpiece and the workpiece must be cleaned before welding.

WCU boned copper electrode has been applied for this kind of welding to weld the work piece, which is placed under a certain electrode pressure and the contact surface between the two pieces.
