Fe-doped Tungstic Acid

Fe-doped tungstic acid may be prepared using sodium tungstate and iron salts as materials. Since Fe initiates the Fenton reaction, the photocatalytic activity of tungstic acid is greatly improved. Also, this is a heterogeneous reaction that avoids the loss of iron ions and thus enables the reuse of the catalyst.Fe-doped tungstic acid image
Tungsten compounds have a wide range of applications in the field of photocatalysis. These compounds can undergo intramolecular charge transfer under the irradiation of ultraviolet light, thereby triggering the degradation of organic substances as reported in the literature. If a transition metal element containing d electrons is added, it is possible to speed up the electromigration process and thus increase its photocatalytic activity.

The Fenton reaction is an inorganic chemical reaction. The mixed solution of hydrogen peroxide and ferrous ion has strong oxidizing properties, which can oxidize many known organic compounds such as carboxylic acids, alcohols, and esters into inorganic states. In other words, it has good ability to remove refractory organic pollutants. Therefore, it has a wide range of applications in wastewater treatment such as printing and dyeing wastewater, oily wastewater, phenol-containing wastewater, coking wastewater, nitrobenzene-containing wastewater, and diphenylamine wastewater, etc.
