Near Infrared Shielding Material: Tungsten Trioxide

Tungsten trioxide (WO3), which has good photochromic properties, is a near infrared shielding material. And study of the relationship among special structure, morphology and enhancement of photochromic properties can provide a theoretical basis for preparing better thermal insulation materials of WO3 powder.near infrared shielding material tungsten trioxide picture
The tungsten trioxide powder can be prepared by hydrothermal method using sodium tungstate and hydrochloric acid as raw materials. By analyzing the influence of different pH values and different reaction temperatures on the structure, morphology and photochromic properties of the product, the basic preparation process of tungsten trioxide powder can be determined. Then, an exploratory study of the photochromic mechanism of the powder was conducted. On this basis, 1-propanol, formaldehyde and oxalic acid can be used as organic inducers to synthesize tungsten trioxide powders with novel morphology, thereby analyzing the effects of organic inducers on the structure and properties of the synthesized products, and exploring the relationship among special structure, morphology and the enhanced photochromic properties of tungsten trioxide.
