Ferrous Tungstate

Ferrous tungstate is a kind of tungstate, which can be made by hydrothermal method. It is commonly applied in dingal materials. And it can also be used in the preparation of dyes, pigments, catalysts, preservatives, fireproofing agents and ceramic materials. Other common seen tungstates include calcium tungstate (CaWO4), zinc tungstate (5ZnO • 12WO3), cobalt tungstate (CoWO4), cadmium tungstate (CdWO4) and ammonium tungstate [(NH4) 6W7O24 • 6H2O].

The chemical formula of ferrous tungstate is FeWO4, the molecular weight is 303.6826g/mol, the accurate mass is 303.865527g/mol and the single isotopic mass is 303.865527g/mol. ferrous tungstate picture
Heat capacities of ferrous tungstate are measured over the temperature range 5 to 550K by means of adiabatic calorimetry. The temperature of maximum heat capacity for the antiferromagnetic anomaly in ferrous tungstate is found to be (75.25±0.1)K. At temperatures far above the magnetic transition, the heat capacity of ferrous tungstate shows a continuing excess heat capacity consistent with a Schottky contribution from energy levels located roughly 1570 to 2700K above the ground state.
