Zirconium Tungstate

Zirconium tungstate, also called tungsten zirconium oxide, is a kind of negative thermal expansion material (NTE material) that has excellent negative thermal expansion within the temperature range of 0.3 to 1050K. It is widely applied in integrated circuits, optics, ceramic matrix composites, metal matrix composites, dental materials, cement-based composites, aerospace engines, polyamide resin composites, and sensors, etc.

The CAS number of zirconium tungstate is 16853-74-0; Molecular formula is ZrW2O8 and molecular weight is 586.89900.zirconium tungstate picture
Producing Methods
The producing method of zirconium tungstate includes coprecipitation method, hydrothermal method, impregnation method, sol-gel method and burning method. Among them, coprecipitation method and burning method are widely used.

After X-ray diffraction analysis, optical microscopy and analysis, and thermal expansion cytometry, we found that the ZrW2O8/6013Al composites material has a high density, ZrW2O8 large volume fraction (80%), low coefficient of expansion (3×10^-6/K), etc., and aluminum alloy (thermal expansion coefficient of 23.4×10^-6/K) compared to the greatly improved thermal properties, has good prospects.
